Happy New Year!

Goodbye 2007 and hello 2008!
Today was our first day back to "normal" life. It's been so great to relax a little bit and rest up. The girls have LOVED extra daddy time. New Year's eve we celebrated as a fam. We took the girls to a Japenese Steakhouse. Bella was totally into it and kept asking questions the whole time. "Is he going to make fire in our plates next?" "What's his name?" "Where did the egg go? Yes, she is inquisitive, talkative, and 3 and a half! Emery wasn't so sure about the whole fire thing. She spent most of her time wanting Jamie to hold her. However, she was diggin the shrimp appetizer. We came back to the house and attempted to play some games Bella got for Christmas. The girls went to bed and we watched Narnia (awesome) and the 2nd Pirates of the Caribbean (terrible). Last night we got to watch the Dawgs play some good ball. Fun times.

As far as resolutions go... we are still trying to define our goals. We both know that our time with God is the most important and highest priority, what investing in our marriage might look like in 08, the girls and what God has for them, our areas of influence and how God may want to use us, taking care of our health. All of which are great, it's just a matter of how many hours are in a day.

I have not been doing so well being disciplined about my time with God. so I have been looking for some good material to study. I think I am going to do the "Living Beyond Yourself" bible study by Beth Moore offered online through Lifeway. I've done her studies before ina group setting and they are in my humble opinion the most life changing material I've encountered. With that said, these studies are some of the most time consuming. So I figure if I do this online if it takes me 2 weeks to get through one week of homework, that's o.k. Quality versus quantity. As a stay at home mom, it's tough to have the same time every day to do anything. I think this season of my life is the most challenging simply because it seems every minute of my time is taken, with a list of things to do at the end of everyday. I am just as desperate if not more so for my time with God and wanting to grow deeper in my relationship with him. If anybody wants to join me in this online study, join in and let me know. We can chat back and forth about what we are studying. I plan to start up January 14th! Here is the link to check it out.

Have a blessed New Year!

I wish we could sit at the same Bible study table. Or in the same nail salon. :)
