Book update

O.k. so much for the chapter by chapter play. This book is too good to put down. I'm about half-way through it. Just finished reading about Relational Principles: Time and Availability, Acceptance and Unconditional Love, Affirmation and Encouragement, Grace, and Relationship Training. If you are even contemplating becoming a mom one day, get this book. "Mission of Motherhood" by Sally Clarkson. Even if you don't agree with her decisions in motherhood you owe it to yourself and your children to read it. I guarantee (although there is no refund in case you disagree) you will gain something from it.

I personally have gotten so many tools and wisdom from reading it so far. One part talks about giving our children time both quality and quantity. Some children who seem to struggle with seasons of disobedience come back around after receiving some one on one time. Not just one day, but over an extended time period. I'm wondering if this might apply to one of our girls, if not both. With our girls being so close in age, it is challenging to give them one on one time.

There is also a part of the book that talks about Proverbs 15:1 and how we can discipline in a spirit of gentleness. I definitely want to grow in this area! It just seems to get me all worked up when it's been an all day battle of the wills! But by God's grace through a lot of personal training, I will be a much better mama.
