The oddest story was in the blizzard of 93 down here in GA. We thought it would be fun to go up to our cabin in the mountains to see a lot of snow. We had no idea that we would be seeing 8ft drifts of snow for 5 days while trying to dig our way out to the main road. ("we" as in the guy part of my family) The women stayed back and boiled water over the fire to use. While we were huddled up in front of the fire there was about a foot or 2 of snow piled up on the glass of the storm door and a little bird kept coming to it and pecking at the glass like "Let me in!!!!" We laughed until it got annoying and then thought what could it hurt? We opened the door and in he came. He slept perched on a bar stool the entire night. When mom got up the next morning and went to the kitchen he flew over and perched on the window sill and sung his little song. We opened the door and off he went. Never came back. Desperate times call for desperate measures...even for the animals I suppose.

Things about my parents
If you've known my mom for very long, you know everywhere she lives inevitably some wild animal will find her to feed them. We've had visiting possums, deer, birds, rabbits, bear, and now some kind of crane become regulars. It was quite intimidating when he/she stood up and came to my shoulder.

Sounds awesome. I am thankful that you and your mom are still so close and have great memories! I know that means the world to your mom!
Hope that the girls are doing well! I sure do miss all of you!
