My new job...starting this fall

We are starting to homeschool this year as Bella enters kindergarten. Just in case you were wondering, this is a highly unorganized industry. There are millions of different choices of curriculum that all teach in different styles. Some are bundled to cover all subjects, but even they may not have something you prefer like art, bible, science, etc... There is every range from super structured to very relaxed, then it all may depend on how your child learns, the possibilities are endless. Not to mention, there is no Homeschooling materials store that carries all the curriculum, so you have to wait till a conference to compare the curriculum in person. There are two in Georgia this year. One has passed and the other will be August 1st. Should be interesting with a 6 wk old!

I have spent countless hours researching and I think I've finally decided on what to use. At this point we will go with this and adjust as needed. Everyone says you'll eventually buy something you don't like and you just sell it and buy something else. So, here we go.

Math u see
Handwriting without Tears
Ordinary Parent's Guide to Teaching Reading
Sonlight's Science K
ABeka's Social Studies K workbook - children around the world, public offices, American historical figures
Critical Thinking Co.'s Visual Perceptual Skill Building Bk 1
Big Truths for Little Kids: Teaching Your Children to Live for God
Studying God's Word Book A - Christian Liberty Press
Art - I'm using a selection of workbooks from Barnes and Noble's School section

Another focus will be reading to the girls to spark their imaginations and vocabulary. One of my personal favorites as a young child was The Boxcar Children. Any reading lists or recommendations would be appreciated!

All this aside, I am super excited about starting kindergarten this fall for Bella and preschool for Emery! What an opportunity for them to enjoy learning. They are awesome and I am so thankful for the blessings they are in my life. I love this! They are so worth it!
