So, I'm thinking of giving Em her own little segment here. She keeps giving me new material. This weekend was no exception. First, we met my dad, his wife, brother and his wife for breakfast. My dad lives outside Nashville and my brother is a missionary in Alaska, so we don't get to see each other much. Anyway, I was really looking forward to seeing everyone. WE got the kids settled with their food and just about the time I could actually take part in the conversation, Emery dumps an entire glass of apple juice in her lap. From the waist down, soaked. Like see through your pants soaked. I took a deep breath, remembered we are over an hour away from home with no spare clothes and took another deep breathe. I took her to the bathroom, put her feet and legs in the sink and washed her off as much as I could. The rest of the meal was joyous as she was cold and wet. I didn't even get a picture of my family it was so crazy.
While we were on the other side of Atlanta we took the opportunity to look at cars at dealerships on that side of town (after a quick trip to Target for a change of clothes that is). We found 2 minivans to test drive. After we drove the first one, we told the girls to hop in the other one while we moved their car seats and discussed what we thought about the first one. Once we were ready to go I walked toward the van and told Jamie, "It looks like someone drew on the seats of this one." As I went to get in, I noticed my daughter had a bright orange crayon in her hand. "Are you kidding me?!!!" Yep, Emery had found a crayon while we were talking and proceeded to draw bright orange marks all over 3 of the 4 back seats.
The sales guy said not to worry about it, but that was one awkward test drive!
