A Day in Eternity

So, today took me by surprise. Jamie and I have been praying that our girls would accept Jesus as their savior at an early age and somehow in my mind I didn’t realize that a 3 year old could understand enough about salvation to make that decision. However, today we were doing our normal routine, the girls were playing in the living room and Bella came over to me and said, “Mommy, I want Jesus in my heart.” I said, “You do? Well, all you have to do is ask Him.” (thinking she was just curious or not really understanding what that meant) She said, “O.K…. Jesus will you come into my heart?” Whoa, honey come over here and let’s talk about this. Do you know what that means? “I want Jesus to be with me forever” she said. I gathered myself together and quickly prayed a “Jesus help me explain the essentials in a 3 yr old’s way of understanding” prayer. I told her that you know when you don’t tell the truth that’s called lying and it is a sin. Jesus left heaven and came to earth and died so He could forgive our sin and we could be with Him forever. When you ask him into your heart, He will be with you and speak to you quietly in your heart and one day you will be with Jesus in heaven. Then I told her that this was a big decision and you only make this decision once in your whole life. Then I said, “Do you want to pray with mommy and ask Jesus to come into your heart so you can be with Him forever?” Instantly and matter-of-fact like she said “Yes” So our sweet Bella ask Jesus into her heart today and we are overwhelmed with joy! Wow! It was awesome to see child-like faith. Not emotional, just, ‘this is what God says I should do then I’m going to do it.’ She was very sure about wanting to ask Jesus into her heart and why she wanted to do it (to be with Him forever). It was obvious that God had somehow communicated to her spirit that He wanted to be with her forever and she wanted to make sure that happened! Bella and I called daddy after we prayed and I was surprised to hear her tell Jamie about everything we had just talked about. She didn’t miss a single detail. Later we celebrated by making her a “birth”day cake and we are getting her a bible with her name on it.

I am so thankful for this awesome blessing! Bella is a very special child ... no doubt! You used the words "child-like faith" on the phone earlier this even'g as well as on here. I just wanted you to know that those were the exact same words that Jamie's 3rd grade teacher Ms. Smiley said about him.
I thought that it was amazing although I knew from when Jamie was 4 that he too was here for a very special reason and that GOD has spoken to his heart. I am so thankful that those beautiful daughters of yours and Jamie's are my grandchildren, they truly are such a wonderful blessing to us all! I am thankful that God has blessed you all, and that your are able to be home with the girls every day ... this makes it all worth any and all sacrifices you may have to make.
I love the pics and I love all of you!
Awesome job today!
