Crazy Weekend -part 2

After a great lunch Saturday, we headed out to get Emery’s first haircut! She did great, and now her fro is under control. Bella got her 2nd haircut too. Then the girls got to go hangout with Grammy and Grandy while mom and dad went to see Shane and Shane at Riverstone Church , our home church when we lived in Marietta. The Shanes were very relaxed and just had a good time. It was great to enjoy some seriously good worship. I love worshipping as a body of believers; it is very personal and very corporate all at the same time. I am so grateful to have that understanding thanks to our time at Riverstone. It was like going to a family reunion and very bittersweet. For the first time since we’ve moved, I felt homesick for Marietta. Sunday we went to church where Andy Stanley started his series It’s Personal. Then the girls and I went to my friend’s little girl, Sophia’s, ,2nd birthday party. It was complete with a visit from Elmo. The girls were worn out from jumping in the inflatable castle and took great naps.

When they woke up we had dinner and then decorated the Christmas tree – strategically. Bella likes to play with all the ornaments as little people and informed me she liked the tree better without the ornaments. It is probably our most humble tree ever. All the breakable ornaments were on the top third of the tree. Since then most of the safe ornaments on the bottom of the tree have been broken. What were we thinking getting a tree this early with Emery. So at this point, 5 days into having this tree up, I have given up on trying to keep them from getting destroyed. I though that was all I had to worry about till this morning. I was cleaning up the bathroom downstairs and heard “CRUNCH”. What was that? I immediately ran into the living room where my worst fear was realized. Emery had gone over to the Christmas tree and chomped down on one of the light bulbs in the stream of lights. PANIC! As I used my hand to sweep her mouth in hopes of keeping her from swallowing all the glass that was now in her mouth! Thankfully she is safe, and hopefully didn’t swallow any. ARE YOU KIDDING? What am I to do with this child? That’s all for now, just pray for my sanity and Emery’s safety in spite of her curiosity.

Jen,

I told Jamie in his site too ... it is a terrible fear to know that your child can come into harms way with you so close at hand. I understand that sick feeling from Jamie's experience as a small child with electricity. I keep you all in my prayers for safety and sanity.
Hang in there! Love Ya
