God is Faithful
Where do I start? Things have been busy and good. We are thrilled to say Jamie got a new job and will start April 1st! He will be working at Browns bridge Church in Cumming, GA, my hometown. I guess we've been in his hometown for 5 years, so now God has us moving to my old town. For those of you who don't know, we've been praying about this career change for a long time. Actually it was our intent on pursuing this when we got married, but we kind of veered off that path. God faithfully brought it back to our attention a little over a year ago and we have been praying He would open and close doors according to His will. Since that time He has led us to really focus on getting out of debt, which we are still working on. That was followed by an unexpected closed door to continuing Jamie's job as a builder. Thankfully we were prepared spiritually for God's hand to move, but we had hoped for more of an open door. Again the Lord urged us to persevere when it was all we could do to not throw our hands up in frustration. Isiah 40 talks about feeling like God doesn't know what's going on and feeling disregarded by God. Which is what felt in our flesh a lot. But it also talks about they that wait on the Lord (meaning leaning into God with expectant hope) will renew their strength. We can run and not be weary, walk and not faint. Been there? We have... for years it seems...with temporary seasons of victory. It's not over, but it never will be. Always a new place to go in life with God. It's that searching for face to face fulfillment that won't be satisfied till we see Him. God is amazing in His timing with all this. It just so happens our contract expired on our house last week and we put the For Sale By Owner sign in our yard and this afternoon, Sunday, had a woman stop and say she's been watching our house for months and has a verbal offer on her house and could she come in and see the house. Any of you who even know little kids could guess what our house looked like after getting ready for church. But, we said it was a mess but she was welcome to. She came in saw it made us a verbal offer and said she'd have to get back with us after she got a paperwork taken care of on her house! By the way, we had scheduled a meeting with a friend of ours who is a realtor to list it at 7pm today. Craziness! Who knows if this will work out or not, but does God have a sense of humor or what? Any questions about His timing? I think I'll think before I speak next time. That's a quick update on us. We are just amazed at, well, God. All those time I questioned if He really was concerned about the details, apparently He does even to the hour. There are thing you know in your head and even your heart, but when it plays out in experience it gives us such a perspective of God's power and love that you can stand on. I gotta quite writing now, but I hope this encourages somebody else.
